Silvio Di Loreto joined the SBCC Foundation Board of Directors in 1978, serving as its president from 1983 to 1987. During this time, Silvio helped to organize an Annual Fund Campaign for the foundation, which raised $72,000. He also established a series of estate planning seminars and was a charter member of the SBCC Foundation President’s Council, known today as the Visionaries Circle.
In addition, Di Loreto Plaza on Santa Barbara City College’s West Campus was named in Silvio’s honor for his help and financial support of the college. To thank him for his long-term service and leadership of the SBCC Foundation, the SBCC Board of Trustees recognized Silvio with a resolution in 1987.
Silvio has received many community acknowledgements including Realtor of the Year; Honorary Director of the California Real Estate Association (a lifetime designation that began in 1972); and the Anti-Defamation League’s Distinguished Community Service Award.
Today, Silvio remains an emeritus member of the SBCC Foundation Board of Directors.
