For many people who believe in the power of education, establishing a scholarship is an especially meaningful a way to create a bridge to success for students who are committed and have distinguished themselves through their academic performance at SBCC, but may lack the financial means to pursue their goals. Some scholarships offer general support to students regardless of discipline or program, while other focus on specific areas of study – everything from nursing to culinary arts, automotive technologies, computer science, art, biology, global studies, early childhood education, and many more.
There are hundreds of scholarships awarded annually, but only about one-third of those who apply will receive an award; need far outstrips available resources. Individuals, foundations, and companies that establish scholarships play an important role in changing students’ lives for the better. If you would like to be one of them, please contact Allie Rigonati, Scholarship and Program Manager, at rigonati@sbccfoundation.org or (805) 730-4410.
