Carola Smith Serves as the SBCC Assistant Superintendent / Vice President of School of Extended Learning, and first came to Santa Barbara City College as an international student. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from UCSB prior to returning to SBCC as an instructor in the ESL department and the School of Modern Languages.
For the past 21 years, she has served in a variety of administrative roles, including as Director of Study Abroad and General Work Experience, Senior Director of International Programs, and for the past three years as Dean of Educational Programs. She has extensive experience working with career technical education programs, the Business Division, Media Arts, the Career Center, as well as with other student support services.
