How long were you at SBCC? Two semesters
What was your focus while at SBCC? Science
Best Memory? The view from my speech class, which was on the west campus, overlooking Leadbetter Beach. I distinctly remember thinking to myself, this is the epitome of learning and living. Not only was I learning something that was essential for my career goals, but this education was happening in one of the most beautiful places ever! It made for a very enjoyable time at SBCC.
How did the SBCC experience influence your professional path? SBCC was an instrumental stepping stone to my end goal of graduate education. Due to the bridge program with the state university system, I was accepted very quickly to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where I obtained my master’s degree.
What are you doing now? I currently work in the higher education industry, serving in the role of university relations for Fielding Graduate University.
How are you making an impact on the world? I am in the fortunate position to collaborate and share the incredible work our alumni offer to the world in the areas of psychology, human and organizational development, and educational leadership.
Why is SBCC an important educational institution for the Santa Barbara community? SBCC serves as a cornerstone institution for students looking to further their education. To have such a respected educational institution in our community is invaluable not only locally, but globally.
